COMPUTER COURSES FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE
These courses are taught at the Social Centre for the Blind in Boxmoor.
The courses run on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
Each course uses computers with "Window Eyes", a speech output programme for blind people, and some with Zoom Text screens to magnify text.
The syllabus includes:
An introduction to basic keyboard skills and
WORD PROCESSSING
for the beginner.
How to use the
INTERNET
and
E-MAIL
- the prerequisite is basic keyboard skills.
How to use the
MICROSOFT EXCEL
spreadsheet package.

Yoga combats stress, keeps you supple and mobile into later life and is a great way to get gentle exercise. The classes provide relaxation and breathing techniques combined with gentle stretching,
The tutor is experienced with students who have little or no sight, as well as those with physical problems.
